Learning to read and learning to spell are very much connected the better a child can spell the better a child can read and because of this you will see I use loads of different ones because although you will find some will all have a certain amount of words which are the same they will also have different words in them too and also the more ways children have to be able to understand words the easier reading becomes and more enjoyable reading becomes.
https://www.allaboutlearningpress.com/all-about-reading-pre-reading/ – paid for package but also offers samples which I have used as inspiration for my own worksheets
http://jettedgames.com/spelling,%20page%202.htm – a way to teach spellings I couldn’t get the files to unzip when I downloaded the whole lot but on page 2 each lesson is there ready to open one at a time and this is how I use this.
http://www.splashesfromtheriver.com/spelling/courseoutline.htm– we also use this one a great little site I believe based on the teaching of their own children although I do not know that for sure.
http://gardenofpraise.com/bbspel.htm– this is a bible based spelling course we used this one as part of RE too.
http://www.zaner-bloser.com/media/zb/zaner-bloser/spellingconnections/english1.html– this site also has Spanish version which the children had a little fun with but the English version is good.
http://www.aaaspell.com/spelling/1 – this one is one (and most that follow) I have recently found and intend to try this year so will let you know how I get on
http://www.spellingcity.com/spelling-curriculum.html– new one not had chance to look at yet
http://www.kidsspell.com/– an other new one yet to try
http://totplay.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/top-10-spelling-resources.html– I have come across this blog which I have found very useful and has some great links on it too.
http://www.jumpstart.com/common/underline-the-us – underline the U’s work sheets getting children used to recognizing letter within words
http://www.jumpstart.com/parents/worksheets/reading-worksheets – lots of sheets I use this one alot so decided to just add the whole site instead of each sheet I use.
