For a camping fan there is nothing as exciting as a new tent’s 1st outing. It had been years since we last had a family sized ‘glamping’ tent. This year we have two trips planned the first is a short weekend stay to test out our new purchase.

We decided upon the British firm Kampa’s Hayling 6 brought from Taunton Leisure. We use this Devon Based business a lot for our Camping needs. Unlike the larger chains their knowledge and customer service is first class.

Obligatory First erection.

Every new tent needs to be erected at home before you take it out for it’s 1st outing. Last thing you want is to arrive on holiday to find your new tent is missing pieces, has broken pieces or is defective.

We put ours up in the garden only just squeezing her in!

So now we know the tent is all there and functional. It was time to recover from busy days at work and to pack up for our two days away (6th – 8th July 2021)

It may have only been a short stay. However we had a great time. We went with a mid week stay just two great nights. obviously night one is always for Smores!
First Morning always starts with a Fry up for breakfast, a day at Black Rock beach with lunch out. Then back for Jacket potatoes and tomato soup.

A lovely camp ground and a lovely Farmer owner, we had a chat with the owner over the fire when he popped in to check everything was ok. We were really impressed with this little camp site. The owners were lovely the day at Widemouth Bay was after a chat with them about the best place for rocks and rock pools. You can Pitch up at this Campsite here. (Checked in Feb 2023 and they weren’t currently taking bookings via Pitch up and I could not find them anywhere else when looked leaving link as hoping they will be taking bookings again soon)

Two tired Beans slept most of the way home
